Technology's accomplishments are marvels beyond words;
Yet none are the miracles that are the hummingbirds.
\One morning, sitting at my ease,
Retreating from the swirl of thoughts and words,
Conscious of a warm and lazy breeze,
I caught the flash and pause of hummingbirds.
One, swooping in upon a nearby tree,
Rested there, to take its ease, like me.
\Then, a sudden swoop, to glide
As near to me as it thought wise.
Left and right, side to side
It pendulummed before my grateful eyes.
Then, gone! This jewel of feathered flight
Made memory occasion for delight.
